Pulp & Paper

The pulp and paper industry has a large variety of complex and exacting applications. Service environment factors, combined with the often very large size of compenents, makes service life extension a crucial factor in the cost effective operation of these plants. Thermal spray and laser cladding have become very effective methods of enhancing the surface properties of components exposed to severe corrosion, erosion, cavitation, heat and sliding wear. Laser cladding has added a new advantage in allowing the recovery of the mechanical integrity of some parts with little or no microstructure transformation. Materials applied include the full range from all the application processes.
